Sherwin-Williams Global Color & Design Center Hosts Its First Ever Designer Workshop

In September 2011, Sherwin-Williams hosted a two day-long “design inspiration” event at its Global Color and Design Center for designers and specifiers in the OEM market. Intended as an opportunity set aside the pressures of day-to-day business and re-connect with one’s inner creativity, over a dozen industry professionals took place in this inaugral event.  Encouraged  to bring any article, trinket or swatch that recently ressonated with them, the casual mood and loose agenda provided a great opportunity for the attendees and Design Center stylists to follow inspriation and take time to explore intriguing topics and techniques.

Workshops like this event are invaluable for both attendees and the Design Center staff. While the designers and marketers participating had an opportunity for hands-on exploring of basic finishing and  “finesse” distressing techniques, the stylists gained a new appreciation for the evolving aesthetic and manufacturing challenges designers face. The opportunity to creatively explore and learn in a setting facilitated with stylists who can help turn these ideas into production reality provided invaluable to those in attendance. The Sherwin-Williams Color and Design Center will be scheduling similar events throughout 2012.
